While the 2025-26 NBA season has yet to tip-off, future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant is already in midseason form. During an interview with Kay Adams, the NBA star invited Adams to a Rockets game and a BBQ dinner afterwards.
During an interview on Kay Adams’ Up & Adams show earlier this week, Kevin Durant and Adams sparred over Adams’ behavior the last time she attended one of Durant’s game (although it’s unclear which game that was).
The clip unfolds like a flirtation between a pair of high schoolers, with Adams accusing Durant of not saying anything to her despite knowing she was there. Durant, however, claimed she never gave him a heads up, and immediately transitioned to inviting her to a game this season, suggesting they go for BBQ afterwards.

The 37-year-old Durant is gearing up for his 18th season in the NBA and his first with the Houston Rockets. Durant was traded to the Rockets in July as part of a 7-team trade, which is the largest in NBA history. In addition to the Rockets, Durant has also played for the Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors, and Oklahoma City Thunder/Seattle Storm.
The addition of Durant has made the Houston Rockets one of the favorites for the NBA title next season, as the only teams with shorter odds than them are the Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks.
Durant and the Houston Rockets will begin their 2025-26 campaign on October 21 when they travel to Oklahoma City to take on the defending champion Thunder, which is the organization that drafted KD out of the University of Texas in 2008.
