Kevin Love Addresses His Latest On-Court Display Of Frustration, Claims He Has No Problems With His Teammates

This past Saturday, Cleveland Cavaliers big man Kevin Love appeared to be having a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Love, who along with Matthew Dellavedova and Tristan Thompson, is one of the only remaining players left from the Cavs’ 2015–16 championship season, showed a very visible sign of frustration during Cleveland’s game against the Thunder, just hours after reportedly being fined $1,000 for a verbal altercation with the team’s general manager Koby Altman following a shootaround, according to The Athletic.

Love then posted this photo with the caption, “Mood,” after the shootaround.

His mood didn’t appear to have changed much by Saturday night when during the game he raised his hands in the air, wanting Collin Sexton to throw him the ball, which he proceeded to angrily pass to Cedi Osman in a visible display of frustration.

After the game, Cavaliers coach John Beilein took the blame for Love’s reaction, saying, “That was my mistake. I was trying to get us to slow down and try to get, not the last shot, but close to the last shot. He had Chris Paul posted up, I didn’t see it. It was on me, I called something else. I told him after. I said, ‘I’m sorry, I didn’t see it.’ I just wanted us to … we’re playing at a pace where I was afraid we weren’t going to get a great shot at time. Took my complete eyes off who he was posting up.”

Love admitted, “Yeah, I felt we were making a play call and at the end of the second half we were in the bonus and I had Chris Paul on me. Felt swing it to me and try to throw it in the post, see if they double-team me and get a shot out of that, but that’s not what we did. Yeah, I was frustrated.”

He also took to social media to express his feelings about speculation that he has had it with his current teammates, posting three photos showing his affection for them and the caption, “A lot of non truths being shared…but I’ve learned that we live in a world where people remember accusations and not rebuttals. Let them paint whatever picture they want. Fact is — I love my teammates.”

That’s nice and all, but if Love finishes the season on the Cavaliers’ roster it will be a shock to just about everyone.
