The NBA trade deadline has come and gone, and the Los Angeles Lakers didn’t make a trade.
According to various reports, the Lakers didn’t like what they saw on the trade market and instead decided to stand pat with their current team.
Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes says the team will look in the offseason to trade for another star while armed with three first-round picks.

“The probable path for Los Angeles Lakers is standing pat at the trade deadline with the potential to acquire another star player in the offseason when armed with three first-round picks, league sources tell

LA Times’ Brad Turner has been told the team will be aggressive in the buyout market for a veteran player, and they are also still hopeful the team can contend while healthy.
Sources: Lakers stand pat at trade deadline because “we like our team,” and deals presented were marginal upgrades for their most valuable assets. They want to keep 3 picks in hopes to add a significant star this summer. Will be aggressive in buyout market with part of MLE.

Lakers also are hopeful to get Jarred Vanderbilt and Gabe Vincent back, per sources, with hopes they can make a run like they did last season by reaching WC finals.

Free agents Spencer Dinwiddie, Marcus Morris, Kyle Lowry, and Robin Lopez are the top candidates for the Lakers to pick up from the buyout market.
The Lakers are currently ranked 9th in the West and would have to battle it out in a play-in game to make the NBA playoffs if the season ended today.
