The Houston Texans underwent a remarkable turnaround under first-year head coach DeMeco Ryans.
After a 3-13-1 record in 2022, the Texans went 10-7 and won the AFC South to return to the NFL playoffs in 2023.
A big part of that was superstar left tackle Laremy Tunsil, who protects the blindside of star rookie quarterback CJ Stroud.
Tunsil, however, has dealt with injuries for much of his career. And he suffered another on Saturday when he got rolled up on during an extra point following a Houston touchdown.
Laremy Tunsil –
Likely Left MCL sprain. Seemed minor but enough for him to know something was off within the knee.
Concern for ACL is there, but I don’t think there was enough impact to cause that. The hope would be just a mild MCL sprain that he can play through. pic.twitter.com/6p6WI2F6Io

Which led fans across the internet to rally around and all ask the same question: why was Tunsil, perhaps your team’s most valuable player, in on extra point situations?
Why is Tunsil playing on the kick?

Tunsil missed the following possession, with right tackle George Fant moving over to replace him.
Thankfully for the Texans, he returned on the possession after that. But Ryans may want to re-evaluate how he uses his star left tackle going forward.
