The LA Lakers better hope they pick up Anthony Davis this offseason via trade because it appears that none of the other elite free agents want to sign in L.A.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski if they don’t make a big trade before the draft they’re in trouble because it’s going to hard for them to find a free agent to play for them.
“If the #Lakers are drafting at No. 4 on draft night, they’re in trouble because that means they didn’t make an Anthony Davis trade done… Right now, they are not a frontrunner or even really a major consideration among any of the elite free agents.”

It seems like the Lakers are in strong pursuit to land Anthony David from New Orleans because they believe what Wojnarowski is saying is true but unfortunately there is plenty of competition.from other teams inquiring about attaining AD’s services.
David Griffin, New Orleans’ executive vice president of basketball operations, has started to provide potential suitors with the framework of the package he is seeking in a trade for All-NBA forward Anthony Davis, including multiteam scenarios that would expand the Pelicans’ pool of assets in a deal, league sources told ESPN.
So far, Los Angeles and New York teams — the Clippers, Lakers, Knicks and Nets — have been among the front offices inquiring with New Orleans, league sources said.
The Lakers do have some hope, According to Woj they have the best to land Davis because that appears where he wants to go and teams aren’t willing to risk many assets just have AD leave next summer.
“The Lakers because they have the leverage of knowing that Anthony Davis wants to sign with them in free agency in 2020 and the rest of the league knows that.”
