During the third quarter of last night’s game between the Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James was ejected for the first time in his entire NBA career after bitching out referee Kane Fitzgerald for not calling a foul while he was driving to the hoop. James barely got his money’s worth before being sent to the locker room, making any MLB manager who’s ever lost his cool after being tossed incredibly disappointed.

Much like a shark can smell a drop of blood in the water from a quarter of a mile away, Skip Bayless has an amazing ability to drop a flaming hot take whenever he senses the tiniest ripple of drama in the world of sports. Bayless has a long history of turning to Twitter to subject the world to his impressively consistent ability to be wrong about things, and if you think he was going to sit by idly after the incident in Cleveland, you obviously don’t know much about Skip Bayless.
He kicked off his rant by wrongly stating the ejection occurred during the fourth quarter of the game because it wouldn’t be a true Skip Bayless diatribe if he didn’t get the facts incredibly wrong:
Just got distracted for a second by a phone call. LEBRON GOT THROWN OUT FOR THE 1ST TIME IN HIS CAREER FOR USING FOUL LANGUAGE COMPLAINING ABOUT A CALL??? IN THE 4TH Q OF A BLOWOUT WIN??? WHY WOULD HE EVEN CARE AT THAT POINT??? STAT-PADDING???

Unfortunately, every subsequent tweet was based on his blatantly incorrect assumption:
LeBron leads the NBA in 4th quarter points, as he has twice before in his career. Of course, he now plays high 4th q minutes whether the Cavs are way ahead or way behind. Many of those points have little or no impact and just serve to stuff the stat sheet.

In recent games, LeBron missed a walk-off shot at home vs Clips – a running LEFT-handed shot, obviously shying from the FT line. And he missed a clinching 3 vs Charlotte at home, giving Hornets two chances to win. THOSE are clutch 4th-quarter points, not just empty calories.

Countless people jumped into his mentions to tell him how wrong he was (as is tradition), but Bayless continued to tweet about the ejection more than two hours after his initial post without correcting the error. I’d say I wish he’d own up to his mistakes, but I’m afraid about the tear in the universe that might open up if he actually did for once.
