Old rivalries never die. That’s not a saying or anything, but it seems to fit the narrative between Le’Veon Bell and Vontaze Burfict.
Remember when those two had beef on the gridiron? Well, it’s still going well after their playing days in the NFL.
So much so, that Le’Veon Bell actually challenged Vontaze Burfict to a boxing match. Unsurprisingly, the former linebacker responded to the callout.
During a guest appearance on the Misfits Boxing podcast, Bell was asked if he had anybody he’d like to take on in the ring, per Steelers Now.
The former Pittsburgh Steelers running back was quick to callout Burfict without explicitly naming him. However, it was clear as day about who he was referencing.
“There is, it’s just that this person is not a boxer. It’s someone from football. They had purposely injured me. I don’t think I want to say the name, but people who watched my career when I hurt my knee, people know. Yeah, people know. I would love to put my hands on him in the ring.”
Clearly, there is some bad blood between these two.
Vontaze Burfict didn’t waste time in responding to Le’Veon Bell’s boxing match call either.

However, the former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker quickly changed his tune on Instagram. In his story, Burfict challenged Bell to a golf match instead of a boxing match.

It’s actually not a bad idea. Especially if they follow through and get charities involved
Le’Veon Bell has yet to respond back since making his boxing match callout. We’ll see if he has anything to say to Vontaze Burfict.
Considering Bell recently knocked out Adrian Peterson, something tells me he’d rather duke it out in the ring. But we’ll have to wait and see how this one plays out.
