The Dallas Mavericks sent shockwaves through the sports world over the weekend when they traded All-Star Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers. Doncic was traded for a package of Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a 2029 first round pick.
The Mavericks trading Luca Doncic is not only one of the most seismic trades in sports history but it also unfolded on a Saturday night, meaning that people were out and about in social settings when they learned about the trade.

Doncic, 25 years old, has career averages of 28.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per game, making him and new Lakers teammate LeBron James the two players in NBA history to average at least 27 PPG, 7 RPG & 7 APG for their careers.
This season, however, he’s been limited to just 22 games due to injury, putting him on course for the fewest amount of games played in a season in his professional career.
