The Miami Hurricanes are offering fans buy-one-get-one tickets this weekend against Texas A&M. The BOGO promotion allows supporters to purchase tickets for the matchup with the Aggies and gain free entry to a later contest versus Georgia Tech.
That marketing tactic has quickly led to criticism on social media.
College football fans are flocking to absolutely roast the Hurricanes for offering the promotion for maybe their biggest home game of the year. Not only will their SEC opponent enter Hard Rock Stadium ranked No. 23 in the latest AP Poll, but the outing will also be televised nationally on ABC.
It seems the school is doing everything in its power to sell out the Week 2 matchup as it’s also been designated as the Orange Out game.

Miami looked dominant in its season opener against Miami (OH), quieting trash talking RedHawks quarterback Brett Gabbert. The Hurricanes defense held its opponent to just three points while QB Tyler Van Dyke threw for 200 yards and a touchdown.
Texas A&M also shined in its season opener, beating New Mexico 52-10. You’d think that would be enough to build anticipation, particularly given the fact that the Aggies beat the Hurricanes in last year’s meeting.
Apparently not as the school continues trying to sell tickets.
It’s Wednesday…Miami won last week and they literally have mecia posting links stating their are plenty seats available for the A&M game while offering a BOGO deal. Can’t make this stuff up pic.twitter.com/oDOL1nTGp5

Rival fans have been quick to troll ‘The U’ on social media.
“Miami really doing BOGO tickets on their biggest home game of the year?” one person sarcastically asked.
“Miami doing Miami things, BOGO tickets… Poverty,” quipped another.
According to @Brett_McMurphy, Miami is offering free tickets to the Miami/GT game if they purchase certain tickets to the Miami/A&M game.
A BOGO to try and get fans to come to a game against a ranked opponent…

“BOGO tickets to Miami vs Texas A&M… Couldn’t be my school! The 80’s called. They want their football program back,” this follower said.
“This can’t be real. Miami is really running a BOGO sale 1 game into the season?” asked someone else.
🤣🤣🤣 Miami selling BOGO tickets. Might as well offer them at Publix! https://t.co/PLNearuDz5 pic.twitter.com/EhSnFY85pJ

Tough look for the Hurricanes. Hopefully the BOGO ticket promotion works for Miami. It will be even sadder if the stadium is still half full when the Aggies come to town.
