The Miami Dolphins are in desperate need of a quarterback and are in good position to draft either Oregon’s Justin Herbert or Alama’s Tua Tua Tagovailoa but it seems like they might be interested in going in a different direction.

According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins might be thinking about trading up to #3 to draft an offensive tackle and not a QB.

There had been rumors circulating before Rapoport’s report about the Dolphins looking into drafting an offensive tackle in the first round just not in the top 10.

According to league sources, the Dolphins have had preliminary discussions about moving up from the No. 18 pick — with the goal of putting the franchise in position to land one of the top-four offensive tackles in the draft,

The Athletic’s Michael Lombardi also confirmed the Dolphins were trying to move ahead of the Giants to draft a tackle.

Update: Apparently the Dolphins would be confident they would be able to land their QB even if they trade up for a tackle.
