Micah Parsons’ mom no longer has to worry about working ever again. On Thursday night, Parsons was shockingly traded by the Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers after contract negotiations deteriorated during the offseason.

Immediately after the trade, Parsons signed a massive 4-year/ $188 million contract with a $120 million guaranteed at signing.

Parsons revealed that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wanted him to play out his fifth-year option, which would have paid him significantly less than he was asking for.

Jones confirmed Parsons’ claims during a press conference on Thursday.

“Basically I think I read where [Parsons] said that I replied, ‘We’re playing under the contract as it exists right now, get ready to play in Philadelphia.’ Correct. That was correct,” Jones said Thursday night.

Hours after the trade, Parsons posted a video hugging his mother with the caption “That moment when your momma never got to work again, God you are amazing.”

While Parsons is happy about signing a new contract, he appears to be saddened by the fact that he had to leave Dallas.

“I never wanted this chapter to end, but not everything was in my control. My heart has always been here, and it still is. Through it all, I never made any demands. I never asked for anything more than fairness. I only asked that the person I trust to negotiate my contract be part of the process.

“This is a sad day, but not a bitter one.
