Charles Oliveira put on another spectacular performance at UFC 269 tonight. His first title defense put the lightweight division on notice that he’s here to stay and it brought out opinions from all around the MMA world.
We’ll start with the most entertaining tweet.
How Conor let Dp fuck him up hella times he sucks 🤦♂️
— Nathan Diaz (@NateDiaz209) December 12, 2021
It is obviously not even remotely accurate, but it’s still fun to get these tweets from Nate Diaz. It’s good to see that while he struggles to actually win fights, he still has his eyes on the one fight he might still win, a trilogy against Conor McGregor.
We also heard from one of Oliveira’s former opponents.
Charles Oliveira is the most skilled man I ever fought. I talk shit when it’s due but I give credit when it’s due too. #UFC269

Kevin Lee has every reason to be bitter right now after the UFC cut him with very little cause. It’s nice to see him show this respect in spite of that.
Daniel Cormier also weighed in, wanting to put the biggest complaint about Oliveira to bed.
Can we please stop talking about @CharlesDoBronxs being a quitter now? He has proven he won’t bail anymore. Congratulations champion

We have seen time and again that Oliveira doesn’t quit in the cage. There may have been times early in his career that wilted under pressure, but people seem to forget that Oliveira was a kid when he joined the UFC and wasn’t given easy fights like some fighters the UFC grooms.
Then there’s the always nutty Tony Ferguson.
Couldn’t Finish Me @CharlesDoBronxs Line Em’ Up 💪😎 -CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 # GoodWorkKid # SeeYouSoon @joerogan @ufc @danawhite pic.twitter.com/CYHTwTVi59

Of course, the former champ also showed some respect tonight.
My congratulations Champ, you deserve this 🏆 🇧🇷
