A Study Has Revealed Which Sports Teams Have The Most Annoying Fans And (Shocker) People Really, Really Hate Boston

A few weeks ago, THE Ohio State University confirmed it is THE worst when it filed a trademark for the word “THE” and officially threw its hat in the ring for the title of the most insufferable school in college football.

You can argue all day about which sports teams have the most intolerable fanbases, but thanks to Insight Pest Solutions, we now have some definitive evidence concerning which of them are the worst thanks to a survey it recently conducted.

The company reached out to 13,500 people to get their opinion on which professional and college teams irk them the most and it appears the city of Boston and the surrounding areas have done a pretty impressive job pissing off the rest of the country based on the results.

As far as the NFL was concerned, the Patriots were far and away the most despised team, which should shock approximately no one.

The same can be said for the NHL, where the Bruins took the top spot (although as an admittedly biased B’s fan I’d argue the Maple Leafs should have topped the list in this situation).

The Yankees did manage to stake their claim as the worst fanbase in the MLB but the Red Sox put up a valiant fight and landed second place, with the two teams collectively garnering over 50% of the vote.

However, when it comes to the NBA, California reigns supreme thanks to the Lakers and the Warriors (although the Celtics still managed to place).

The company also took a look at college football—where Alabama took the crown—and I honestly have no idea how Notre Dame only garnered a little over 3%.

When it comes to college basketball, common knowledge dictates Duke inspires hatred like no other and the statistics seem to back that up.

When you take every sport into consideration, the Patriots easily boasted the most insufferable fans, with the entire city of Boston also garnering an impressive chunk of the vote.
