While the New England Patriots’ roster has all been accounted for during their training camp, they have been dealing with a contract dispute with one of their stars.
Despite not holding out during camp, Pats linebacker Matthew Judon has made it clear that he is not happy with his current contract situation.
Today, Judon and the Pats settled the issue.
According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Patriots have agreed to give Judon a raise for this season that will give him $14 million guaranteed instead of the $2 million he was due and the potential to make $18 million total instead of $12.5 million for the 2023 season.

Judon has absolutely earned this raise from the Patriots over the 2 seasons he has spent with the team.
In his first year with the Pats, Judon set a career high in sacks, getting to opposing quarterbacks for 12.5 sacks.
He set another career high in his second season. This time he was able to rack up 15.5 sacks. he has made the Pro Bowl in both of his seasons with the Patriots and finished 9th in the voting for Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.
While this deal should make Judon happy for the year, he still has another season left on his current contract that was not impacted by this raise. That will likely leave him and the Patriots to negotiate once again next offseason.
For now, Matthew Judon has at least gotten himself a nice raise for the year as a reward for his recent play and the New England Patriots will go into the season knowing they don’t have to worry about one of the key pieces of their defense being unhappy.
