All season long, the New York Giants have been looking for answers at wide receiver.
Their issues at the position weren’t enough to stop them from making the playoffs, but we’re evident every time they took on one of the tougher defenses on their schedule.
There were times it looked like they might have found their answers. Sterling Shepard played well to open the year before ending up on injured reserve.
They hoped early in the year that their recent draft picks would be able to make an impact, but they ended up trading Kadarius Toney and Wan’Dale Robinson spent most of the season injured.
Darius Slayton and Richie James have both stepped up to lead the passing attack throughout the year. Still, the team has needed more help at the position, but the help didn’t come at the trade deadline.
The Giants will head into the playoffs still featuring the same group of pass catchers that they’ve had throughout the season, but it looks like they are already making moves to try and improve at the position for next season.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, the Giants have signed former Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers receiver James Washington.

The Steelers selected Washington in the 2nd round of the 2018 draft and he found early success with the Steelers. In his 2nd year in the league, Washington made 44 catches for 735 yards.
Unfortunately, he struggled to break into a crowded receiver rotation over the next couple of seasons and ended up heading to Dallas after his rookie contract expired.
He was expected to have an immediate impact for the Cowboys as they tried to fill the void left when they traded Amari Cooper. Unfortunately he never ended up making a catch for the Cowboys.
Now he’ll get a chance to try and carve out a role with the New York Giants next season.
