The first NFL action of the 2023 NFL season is just hours away as the New York Jets are set to take on the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League’s Hall of Fame Game, which is held annually prior to the Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
The matchup, however, is basically a glorified practice session, as both the Jets and the Browns will be fielding skeleton rosters of backups and potential cuts.
Despite the caliber of player that’s expected to be involved in tonight’s game, NFL fans — simply itching for some football action — are clamoring for the game either way, even if it does present the prospect of watching Zach Wilson versus Kellen Mond.

The entire football world seems to be feeling the same way about the game: sure, it’s offenses led by Zach Wilson and Kellen Mond, but it’s still live NFL football.

Both the Jets and the Browns seem as though they’ll be two of the most talked about teams in the league this year, likely due to their respective quarterbacks.
The Jets, of course, are in their first season with future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers, whom they acquired in a trade with the Green Bay Packers back in late April.
While the Jets haven’t made the playoffs since the 2010 season, which is good for the longest drought in the league, the arrival of the four-time NFL MVP has vaulted Gang Green into contention, as they’re now one of the top betting favorites to win this season’s Super Bowl.
Currently, the only franchises with better odds than the Jets are the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, and Dallas Cowboys.
As for the Cleveland Browns, they’re embarking on their first full season with embattled signal-caller Deshaun Watson, who missed the entirety of 2021 and was suspended for 11 games last year as a result of the myriad of sexual misconduct allegations made against him.
All told, 24 women accused Watson of some form of sexual misconduct and he has settled with all but one of them.
