We’re about 48 hours away from start of the NFL draft and many people still have no idea who the Browns are going to pick #1 overall. Just this morning, ESPN reported that Baker Mayfield was still in play for the Browns at #1.

Baker Mayfield “definitely” has been a part of the Cleveland Browns’ considerations with the No. 1 draft pick, a league source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter, and the former Oklahoma quarterback cannot be ruled out as a possibility for the top overall selection Thursday night.
The source said the Browns may have already decided whom they would select at No. 1. But before that final decision, whenever it was made, Mayfield was in that conversation.
Thanks to a muck up we might now know who the Browns are going to pick on draft night. Here’s what NFL insider Benjamin Allbright tweeted and deleted earlier today.

1st overall?

I’d imagine so. Allbright is pretty spot on

Allbright, who is usually right about this stuff, appeared to fire back at people questioning his credibility on the matter.

Was Allbright talking about the Browns? Was he talking about another team picking up Darnold? Who knows and my guess is Darnold is going #1 but not even the Browns are entirely sure what they’re going to do on Thursday night at this point. We’re all going to have to just sit back and wait until the Browns are finally off the clock.
