30-year-old cornerback Richard Sherman just recently returned to practice this week after suffering an Achilles tear last season and while he has reportedly looked good in practice he was no match for former Olympian sprinter turned Niners receiver Marquise Goodwin. During yesterday’s practice, Goodwin absolutely torched Sherman and left the former pro bowl corner in the dust during 1-on-1 drills.

After video of Sherman getting obliterated by Goodwin made it’s way online, Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh tried to downplay what had transpired in practice.
He missed all of OTAs and had been working with the trainers,” defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said afterwards. “Just trying to get his football legs back. He doesn’t have anything to prove. He just has to get back in shape and get his legs back.”
Even if he was completely healthy Sherman probably wouldn’t have been able to keep up with Goodwin 1-on-1 but Sherman does look like he’s lost a step or two which must be concerning for the Niners.
