North Carolina has a huge game coming up tonight against Clemson in the ACC Championship Game,
but they are already getting some idea of what their roster may look like for next season.
Yesterday, head coach Mack Brown discussed the approach he’s taking to players that may enter the transfer portal before the Tar Heels’ season comes to an end. He revealed that he is open to letting them play in whatever bowl game the team ends up in as long as they keep practicing hard and are leaving for “the right reasons”.
Mack Brown says if guys decide to enter the portal but they’ve been practicing hard and “are leaving for the right reasons” he’ll let them stay and play in the bowl game.

More importantly, he made a shocking claim about one of his team’s starters. ESPN’s David Hale revealed yesterday that Brown claimed 15 different schools have offered one of his starters money to transfer.
Mack says he talked to a starter the other day who said he had 15 schools he could transfer to, all offering money. Said he’s told all his guys just to be honest with him and let him know before they make a final decision on leaving.

That’s a pretty huge tampering allegation by Brown.
While he didn’t name the player who he claims is being tampered with, there is one player who stands out as a possibility.
It wouldn’t be very surprising to hear that Drake Maye is the player in question here after an impressive sophomore season that saw North Carolina become one of college football’s best offenses.
Whoever the player is that is getting these offers, it definitely appears to be a case of a pair of many college football programs trying to skirt the NCAA’s rule.
