At a certain point in every fitness journey plateaus are inevitable and if you subscribe to the view that boredom is the mother of invention than it is easy to see how many eating and fitness challenges are born. The highest performers simply need more to keep their attention engaged and nowhere in the country is there a greater concentration of high performers than the city that never sleeps.

There are also no shortage of pizza options in NYC with an estimated 2,000+ pizzerias throughout the city. It is hard to walk down a busy block without seeing one. Similarly, every block has a bodega or bar and all of the boroughs are teeming with running paths.

NYC’s 10-10-10 Challenge: Run 10 Miles, Eat 10 Pizza Slices, Drink 10 Beers

TikTok’er @PrinceKevv is a runner in the city and appears to have been the brains behind the new 10-10-10 challenge that I now desperately want to try. I was in the city last weekend and had I seen this on Friday I might’ve given it a shot on Saturday but instead went surfing out at the Rockaways and rented a board that was way too athletic for me instead of the ‘boat’ funboard that I needed and I got crushed by choppy waves. But I digress.

In his latest video with 30K views and counting, they run south down the island of Manhattan stopping each mile to drink a beer and eat a new slice after every mile. Check it out:

Here’s how it all shook out for them:

Mile 1: Modelo and a slice from 109 Pizzeria in East Harlem.
Mile 2: Coors banquet beer at 104h street and a slice from Da Bianca.
Mile 3: Sunny D vodka seltzer (no beer at the wine store) and a slice from Marinara Pizza.
Mile 4: Brooklyn Beer (bottle) and a slice from Williamsburg Pizza.
Mile 5: Slice from Lunetta’s on 64th and Bud Light from a brown bag.
Mile 6: Coors Light and a slice from ‘Slice’ on 44th street.
Mile 7: Corona Light and a slice from an unnamed place in Bryant Park
Mile 8: Slice from Eataly and a classy Peroni from a bottle
Mile 9: Coors Light and a slice from an unnamed place
Mile 10: Tried to get a slice from L’Industrie but it was too busy, got a $1 slice and a bottle I can’t tell what beer it is. But they did it!

Could you complete the 10-10-10 challenge? Do you have that dawg in you? It looks… not fun. But it is a 10 out of 10 use of free will.
