Although Paddy Pimblett’s last fight ended in a controversial win, UFC fans are looking forward to the next time he takes the cage. However, it sounds like that could be a while.

Apparently, the rising star suffered an injury serious enough that requires surgery. For that reason, his fight plans in 2023 are up in the air.

According to MMA Fighting, Paddy Pimblett is, “set to undergo ankle surgery in March to repair damage done from his most recent fight against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 this past December.” The English star believes he suffered the injury early on in the brawl, “following a leg kick that landed on Gordon’s shin.”

You can see Pimblett visit the doctor’s office for his ankle injury on his YouTube channel where the doctor explains the injury in further detail. It starts at the 13-second mark.

As of now, it’s unclear how long it will take Paddy Pimblett to recover from the surgery. Considering he is going under the knife in March, that likely rules out any chances we’ll see him anytime soon. If anything, Pimblett is likely to be ruled out through April. However, that is strictly speculation for now, as there is no official time frame for his recovery.

Additionally, Pimblett hasn’t made any statements about the injury yet. Even so, considering he’s not one to shy away from talking into a microphone, we could hear from Paddy “The Baddy” about it soon enough.

With that said, there will likely be more updates regarding the injury as time goes on. For now, we’re going to have to be patient to see Paddy Pimblett in the octagon again.
