Deion Sanders might talk a big game but he clearly isn’t capable of listening to any criticism, as the University of Colorado head coach decided to ban Denver Post reporter Sean Keeler from future press conferences.
According to Deion Sanders and the University of Colorado, Keeler’s banishment is due to a “series of personal attacks” they believe he has launched against the former NFL cornerback, citing his use of the phrases “false prophet, Deposition Deion, Planet Prime, Bruce Lee of B.S., and the Deion Kool-Aid,” while also calling his program a “circus.”
During the Monday, August 26 episode of Get Up — which came after the 2024 college football season officially kicked off with a Week 0 game between Florida State and Georgia Tech over the weekend — longtime ESPN CFB analyst Paul Finebaum ripped into Sanders, saying that he’s not “ready for primetime.”
Finebaum also hit Sanders with what the University of Colorado apparently considers “personal” attacks (as evidenced by their treatment of Keeler), saying that he’s a “bully, a hypocrite,” and is displaying inherently un-American values due to his suppression of the press.
“Coach Prime is showing he is not ready for primetime, Greeny,” Finebaum told Get Up host Mike Greenberg and football analysts Damien Woody and Dan Orlovsky.
“I find this whole thing disgraceful… treating reporters like this seems like we’re in some autocratic country. This is not America… I find him to be a bully and a hypocrite.”
