The Pittsburgh Steelers, statistically, are not a good football team. Yet, they keep on winning games, and after today’s 23-19 win over the Green Bay Packers, they sit at 6-3.
And, they have made NFL history, winning once again while being out gained by their opponent.
– The Steelers have been outgained in every game all season.
– They have run fewer plays than their opponent all season.
– They have a -26 point differential.
They are 6-3. #Steelers

Coming into the week, the Steelers were the only team in NFL history to be out-gained in their first eight games and have a winning record. That doesn’t even make sense. Sure, teams win games all the time in which the other team has more total yards. But, to do it five out of eight games entering Sunday? That defies statistical analysis.
But, they did it again on Sunday. They were out-gained 399-324, which is a considerable margin in the NFL. But, they forced two turnovers in the red zone in the final four minutes of the game and won anyway. Classic Steelers.
Now, they’re the first team in NFL history to be out-gained in NINE straight games, and have a winning record. Not only do they have a winning record, but they’ve won two-thirds of their games.
It’s incredible. The Pittsburgh Steelers are 28th in the league in total offense, 30th in total defense, and are well within playoff position through over half of the season.
The win sets up a massive game next Sunday against the 6-3 Cleveland Browns on the road in Cleveland.
