Power Outage Briefly Brings UFC 286 Card To A Complete Standstill As Fans Watch On In Confusion

Saturday’s UFC 286 card at the O2 Arena in London is perhaps the biggest UFC card in England’s history.

It features a welterweight grudge match between bitter rivals Kamaru Usman and Leon Edwards for the division crown.

Usman, the long-time reigning champ, won the first fight between the two in convincing fashion. The second time around, he appeared on the way to doing the same before a late Edwards knockout handed the Brit the title.

When asked about their third and potentially decisive fight, Usman didn’t exactly sound concerned about his competition.

“Yes, you have a ton of tape. All these people or all these fighters have all this tape to watch and study and try to defeat you with what they’ve studied. If they’re able to do that, if they have the ability to study your tape and go out there and shut everything and do that, they’re the better fighter. They deserve to be champion anyways. You can’t stop it. If they have the ability to trump what they see on tape, they’re the better fighter anyways.

“Now, the problem is, you can watch as much tape as you want to. A lot of people can see me and say, ‘Oh, wow, he has a decent gas tank.’ But until you are locked in that cage with me and you actually feel that, you have no idea. This individual has felt it twice, and he has melted twice. Power Outage Briefly Stops UFC 286

But before thing got weird before the two could even step in the ring.

Mid-way through the card, the power went out in the arena, leaving everyone in the dark.

The power remained out for a couple of minutes before eventually coming back. But fans found the entire situation pretty comical.

Here’s hoping that happens again mid-match between Usman and Edwards and we get an Undertaker cameo.
