Reds manager David Bell was fuming after seeing one his star players get hit by a pitch in the first inning of a game vs. San Diego. He worked himself up so much that he became a danger to his own well-being!
Bell suffered a self-inflicted wound amid a tussle with a nearby chair, slicing his finger open in a losing battle.
It took only one frame for the Cincinnati manager to lose his mind as he erupted following an accidental misfire on the mound. Star slugger Jake Fraley was hit in the hand by a Joe Musgrove delivery, which eventually forced the team’s leading hitter to leave the game.

It’s a trend that Bell feels has become all-too-common with his Reds batters.
His emotions got the best of him as he made his way out onto the field to voice his displeasure with the pitch. He then returned to the dugout where the tirade continued.
Taking out his disgust on anything that got in his way, he was seen kicking a nearby chair before launching it into the dugout wall. He was then later spotted with a towel wrapped around his hand.

The Reds manager talked about the incident after the game.
“We’ve had a lot of guys hit, and hit in the hand,” Bell said following the 2-0 win. “It wasn’t directed at any team or pitcher. It’s happened a lot. Never seen anything like it.”
He also spoke on the injury.
“The chair got the best of me that’s for sure.”
He’s hoping to avoid any time on the IL!
Fraley, meanwhile, is reportedly dealing with swelling on his right hand, but an X-ray came back negative. The injury doesn’t look to be serious, but he could miss minimal action.
