Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman shared some scary footage screenshots of armed gunmen robbing his house while his wife and children were home. According to Sherman, thankfully, no one was hurt.
In a tweet posted on Monday, March 31, Richard Sherman — a former Pro Bowl and Super Bowl-winning cornerback with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Bucs — shared photos from his home security system that show two masked and armed gunmen intruding on his home.
Sherman — drafted out of Stanford University in the 5th round (154th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft — credited his wife’s handling of the situation having kept everyone safe.
“House being robbed at gun point with my family in it isn’t what anyone wants for a birthday gift. Scary situation that my Wife handled masterfully and kept my kids safe. If anyone has any info that can help find these people please reach out,” Sherman shared on social media on Monday, March 31.

Sherman, 37 years old, retired after the 2021 season and has spent recent years has an analyst for Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video. During his decade in the NFL, Sherman racked up 37 interceptions and five Pro Bowl appearances. Considered one of the best cornerbacks of his generation, Sherman could be a potential Hall of Fame candidate when he becomes eligible in 2026 (five years after his retirement).
Last fall, Sherman made headlines with his analysis of Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter’s prospects as an NFL-level talent, saying that he does not believe he’ll be able to play on both offense and defense like he did in college.
