Rob Gronkowski has only ever caught passes from one quarterback: the newly-retired Tom Brady. The pair — arguably the greatest quarterback/tight end duo in NFL history — played nine seasons together in New England before heading down to Tampa Bay for two more years.
Those two years in Tampa, though, came after Gronk spent a year in retirement, as he was only coaxed back to the league due to his relationship with Brady.
That said, while Tom Brady may be the only QB Gronk has ever played with, the future Hall of Famer has identified which of the league’s signal-callers he’d like to play with other than the GOAT: and that’s Joe Burrow.
“I kinda like this young buck quarterback. He’s in the Super Bowl now: It’s Joe Burrow, man,” Gronkowski said during a Q-and-A for Autograph NFTs when asked who he’d want his quarterback to be other than Brady. “I watched him in college. I just love the way he presents himself out on the football field. In the pocket, he’s just so calm and he just slings it out on the field. … I just love his swag, too.”
“If I had to pick a quarterback, it’d be the young buck Joe Burrow. He’s killing it right now in the game.”
Joey B and the Cincinnati Bengals will take on Matthew Stafford and the Rams in Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium on Sunday, February 13. The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m.
