Trade rumors involving Russell Wilson are nothing new, but they’ve especially picked up recently after the Seahawks failed to make the postseason this past year. Some think that Wilson could be looking for a way out of Seattle, but that may not happen according to Ian Rapaport.

The NFL insider jumped on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Friday to share insight into what he’s hearing about the Wilson situation in Seattle. Wilson recently scrubbed any mention of the Seahawks from his Twitter bio, which has only added more fuel to the rumor fire.

Despite Wilson’s new Twitter bio, Rapaport isn’t predicting a Wilson trade happening this offseason.

“I don’t know what Russ’ goal was. I’d imagine this ends up driving the conversation, but I would go back to where I always am with him and Seattle,” Rapoport said. “Until Seattle has a better option for them to compete next year, I just don’t see them trading him.”

“I don’t know who their quarterback is going to be if they trade Russell Wilson, and how does that become an upgrade?”

Everything Rapaport suggested makes complete and total sense. Maybe Wilson tries to force a trade out of Seattle, but he doesn’t seem like the type of player to do that.

Wilson is signed thru the 2023 season before becoming an unrestricted free agent as his current contract stands.
