Ryan Clark spent 13 years in the NFL trying to stop opposing quarterbacks from making plays, so his scouting report on players carries a bit more weight than the average talking head.
That doesn’t mean everyone has to agree with his opinions about certain players, however, and his latest take about Russell Wilson and the reaction from fans afterwards is a prime example of that.
During Monday’s edition of ‘Get Up’ on ESPN, Russell Wilson became a topic of conversation and Clark did not hold back with his criticisms.
While Clark admitted that Wilson is a “really good quarterback” he shared his opinion that he’d never be in the “all-time great” conversations.
“Russell Wilson is not an all-time great quarterback, he’s never going to be in those conversations,” Clark explained. “We have to stop putting him in that world that any team that has Russell Wilson can win a Super Bowl.”
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Clark said that Ben Roethlisberger was a better QB than Wilson is given the fact he spent the majority of his career as a Steeler.

While Wilson’s Super Bowl came way back in 2014, he still has a Super Bowl ring to his name. That ring goes along with a career touchdown to interception rate of 292 to 87. Wilson is a nine-time Pro Bowler, which is pretty strong given the fact he’s only been in the NFL for 10 seasons.
NFL fans on Twitter were quick to react, and call out Clark for his take about Wilson:
