It’s been quite a day for Saquon Barkley. The ultra-talented running back left the Giants in free agency, signing with the rival Philadelphia Eagles.
After years of downright awful offensive line and quarterback play in New York, Saquon Barkley will have a good quarterback and a good offensive line in Philadelphia. Finally, he will be able to show off his talents as he plays out his three-year, $37 million ($26 million guaranteed) contract that could be worth nearly ten million more in incentives.
But, that news did not sit well with former Giants running back Tiki Barber. Barber said Barkley was “dead to me” as well as to other Giants fans after signing with their rival.
Barkley, naturally, didn’t take kindly to those words, and he fired back at Tiki Barber on Twitter early Monday evening.
@TikiBarber you been a hater since I got to New York … and all the “Dead to me” talk don’t smile in my face when you see me

@TikiBarber lol yup you’re the prime example of loyalty to a team.. I got the deal I wanted, secured more gm which wasn’t given to me before… so if fans are gonna hate me for that so be it! But I never turned my back on my teammates and always had theirs https://t.co/6aKgJquD0F

Saquon Barkley isn’t wrong! It seems like Tiki Barber is always complaining about the Giants, and has gone after Saquon Barkley.
Back in 2020, Tiki Barber went after Saquon Barkley, claiming he wasn’t an every-down back due to his lack of pass-protection skills. I’m sure Barkley remembered that, and it had something to do with his comments today.
Barber currently serves as a host on New York sports radio station WFAN’s show Afternoon Drive with Craig Carton. After this exchange with Saquon Barkley, I’m sure they will have plenty to talk about on Tuesday’s show.
In the meantime, Saquon Barkley can start getting excited about playing in front of a competent offensive line for the first time in his entire football life.
