Caitlin Clark showed out in her latest matchup against the Seattle Storm, dropping 23 points and nine dimes to lead her team to a win. That contest saw a tense moment late as the potential Rookie of the Year was handed a technical foul by officials.
Clark was unhappy with the ruling, which she expanded upon in a postgame interview. Her reaction to the play landed a response from Storm players and coaches after the fact.
Seattle coach Noelle Quinn voiced her displeasure to Indiana’s Christie Sides during postgame handshakes. Storm point guard Skylar Diggins-Smith chose another avenue to let her frustration out.
While Clark signaled to the home crowd in celebration of the win, Diggins-Smith beelined towards the rookie, making sure to give her a notable bump while exiting the court.
The feelings of disdain for Caitlin Clark continued into the press conference.
Jewell Lloyd, the WNBA’s 2015 Rookie of the Year, was asked about Clark’s chances to take home the award. She refused to speak on her opponent, instead taking an opportunity to praise Seattle Storm youngsters.

Caitlin Clark has received much attention since entering the league, and she seems to have a weekly target on her back. As foes attempt to get under her skin, though, she’s used the animosity as fuel for what’s been an impressive debut season.
After being snubbed by Team USA for a spot on the Olympic roster, Clark has been on a mission to prove her doubters wrong. As her spotlight grows, though, so too will the negativity received from future opponents.
