The SEC Officiating team created a Twitter account today and in under two hours has amassed a following of over 7,500 fans. That would be a pretty impressive pull if those followers were looking to engage virtuously with the content, but it has become evident that the account will be merely a forum for jilted SEC fans to public announce how many fuck ups the refs have been and will be responsible for.
The account has just one tweet introducing itself and claiming that it plans to “serve as your source for rules, videos, statistics and activities inside the SEC Video Center. It then asks fans to “Go easy on us,” a request that fell on hundreds of deaf ears.
Hello, world 👋
This account will serve as your source for rules, videos, statistics and activities inside the SEC Video Center.
Go easy on us!

I haven’t seen an account get dragged this ruthlessly since O.J. Simpson joined Twitter and acted like he didn’t murder his wife and a waiter.
If there is such a thing as “online bullying,” the SEC Officiating Twitter account is the poster boy victim.
