Shaq Leonard lost his job today, but that didn’t stop him from going out and giving back to the community.
On Tuesday, Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay announced the team was cutting the former All-Pro Leonard.

Immediately after getting cut, Leonard posted a classy message thanking fans, the city of Indianapolis, and the Colts organization.
“Indy, I want to thank you for accepting me and my family with open arms,” “These past six years has been nothing but incredible! Through the good times and bad time y’all stood by my side. I apologize for not bringing that trophy back to the 317. The energy in Lucas Oil has been nothing but amazing and I thank you for every memory. I’m thankful to play for such an amazing fan base. I love you guys and wish the Colts nothing but the best. Maniac out.”
Hours after getting cut by the team, Leonard was seen handing out turkeys to families in need for Thanksgiving.
“I’m all about giving back. Through tough times, good times, no matter what it is.”
#Colts LB Shaq Leonard joked that he felt like Craig from the movie “Friday” since he got cut on his day off, but he still showed up to pass out turkeys to the Indy community for Thanksgiving.

Leonard only played three games last season due to back injuries and didn’t play much this season after falling out of the team’s rotation.
The 28-year-old Leonard will be free to sign with any team if he goes unclaimed on waivers.
