It does not matter how old or how young they might be, future, former and current athletes at the University of Kentucky absolutely despise future, former and current athletes at the University of Louisville. That deep-rooted rivalry hatred goes both ways, as we saw during a postgame brawl at The Basketball Tournament in the Bluegrass State on Monday night.

Spit sparked an ugly brawl at Freedom Hall after the Wildcats alumni team defeated the Cardinals alumni team on their home floor!

The Ville hosted La Famillia in the quarterfinal round in front of a record crowd of 13,506. It shattered the previous TBT attendance record by more than 6,000 fans. Although it was mostly red, there was also a heavy smattering of blue in the stands.

Some of the big names on the Kentucky side include Willie Cauley-Stein, Eric Bledsoe, James Young and the Harrison brothers. Louisville’s team was highlighted by Montrezl Harrell, Peyton Siva and David Johnson.

As could be expected, the highly-competitive college basketball rivalry game at The Basketball Tournament was intense!

Both teams were at each other’s throats early and the trash talk never stopped. Andrew Harrison and Chris Jones picked up a pair of technical fouls after a dust-up in the first half.

La Familia went on to defeat The Ville 70-64. The Wildcats alumni are now two wins away from a $1 million, winner-take-all prize. Head coach Tyler Ulis was fired up.

Things got chippy in a hurry as soon as the buzzer sounded!

Nate Sestina had been throwing ‘Ls Down’ all game. It was incessant.

Sestina continued to do so after the victory and that did not go over well with Onuaku. The latter allegedly spit in the face of the former, which sparked an all-out brawl between the two teams.

It was pretty intense!

Police had to step in and break up the fracas when multiple fans stormed onto the court to get involved. Some (weak) punches were thrown. It was mostly pushing, shoving and jawing.

Sestina, who finished with a game-high 22 points, said in his postgame press conference that Onuaku’s spit was the catalyst for the incident. He and Cauley-Stein vowed never to stop throwing ‘Ls Down,’ ever.

A grown man spitting in the face of another grown man is the weakest form of aggression and La Familia came out with the win so Onuaku looks pretty pathetic. Kentucky and Sestina won the game. They also won the postgame!
