Stephen A. Smith was left speechless for the first time in a long time during the latest edition of ESPN’s ‘First Take.’
On Monday, Smith and crew spoke about this weekend’s Caitlin Clark incident from over the weekend when he was shoved by Chennedy Carter during the Sky-Fever game.
During the conversation, Smith called out WNBA players for being extra physical against Clark, which led McNutt to fire back by calling out Stephen A. and other new WNBA fans over the Clark conversation.
“The prevailing sentiment for the folks that ae just joining the WNBA and following women’s sports is unfair to the women of this league who have laid the groundwork for Caitlin Clark to come in to take it to the next level.”
“We’re still talking about competition, where you are allowed to get a little extra elbow in if you are competing and you do it in the parameters of the game. The game is physical, Caitlin is helping to grow the league, these women understand that, but she cannot be babied as a rookie”
An offended Smith asked Clark, “Who talks about the WNBA, who talks about women, who talk about women’s sports more than First Take?” and was left stunned when McNutt responded by saying, “With your platform, you could have been doing this 3 years ago if you wanted to.”
Stephen A. Smith: "Who talks about the WNBA, who talks about women, who talks about women's sports more than First Take?"
Monica McNutt: "Stephen A., respectfully, with your platform, you could have been doing this three years ago if you wanted to."

Anytime you extend “who does ___ more than me” you’re setting yourself up. https://t.co/kWI5gPgWdy
