Pittsburgh Steelers’ star TJ Watt is undoubtedly one of the best athletes on the planet.
The linebacker is the reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year after recording 22.5 sacks in 2021, tying Michael Strahan’s NFL record.
But it turns out that Watt’s athleticism is no match for…a random Pittsburgh mom?
That’s right, Watt and teammates Minkah Fitzpatrick and Alex Highsmith went to a local park to play pickleball recently. Once there, Watt and Highsmith reportedly got drubbed by the team of Fitzpatrick and local woman who we know only a “Meg.”

Now, as any good sports journalist know, pickleball is the sport of suburban mom’s everywhere. Not only do they play all the time, but it’s often extremely competitive. Just look at this woman’s confidence as she brags about how she and Fitzpatrick “whooped” Watt and Highsmith.
Watt could’ve denied the woman’s tale of the events, but instead he took it in stride.
Meg was serving the HEAT. We had trouble all day. https://t.co/iemtZDRbuW

Meg not only now has a great story to tell, but she’s also become an internet hero.
Pickleball one of those sports that no matter the age or how in shape you are, if you cold you cold. https://t.co/VVbvVlrK6k

There’s certain games that older people are just better at. Racket sports tend to be one of them. Tennis, racket ball, pickle ball, squash, you name it. If you’re in the under 30 crowd thinking you’re gonna roll up and show out, just check the ego at the door. https://t.co/SFbdzQfJ11

There’s a good chance that Watt will return to the field and continue to dominate in 2022. But he learned a valuable lesson on this day. If you come for Queen Meg on the pickleball court, you best come correct.
