It appears that Taylor Swift will not be performing at the Super Bowl this year.

A few weeks ago, the Daily Mail reported that Swift and the NFL were in negotiations for her to perform during the big game.

“Negotiations are happening with Taylor to potentially do the next Super Bowl,” an insider tells the Daily Mail. “The NFL would like to make the announcement sometime right before Thanksgiving.”

Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that the NFL and Swift were able to figure things out.

According to music reporter Rob Shuter, Swift turned down the Super Bowl halftime show because she didn’t want to do it for free, which is customary for performers in years past.

“She wasn’t asking for favors, she was asking for respect,” one music executive tells #ShuterScoop. “Taylor knows her worth. She knows the kind of ratings she brings, the global attention she commands. She wasn’t about to hand that over for free.”

For those that don’t know, the NFL doesn’t pay Super Bowl halftime performers, and some have spent money to be on the show.
