Temple Coach Geoff Collins got heated during today’s Cincy-Temple after a late hit on one of his players wasn’t initially penalized by the refs.
Watch as Bearcats De Michael Pitts lays a vicious hit on the defenseless Temple WR Branden Mack which for whatever reason wasn’t called a penalty on the field..
Collins, who was rightfully angry that there was no flag on the play, had to be restrained by his assistants.

Eventually the refs went to look at the replay and ejected Pitts for the hit.
For the second time this season, #Bearcats DE Michael Pitts gets ejected on a targeting call, leading with the crown of his helmet. No penalty was called on the play, but after review, Pitts is sent off and flagged. Same thing happened early against UCLA.

Temple fans were not happy with Pitts or the refs.
So they don’t call targeting on a clear targeting call. Geoff Collins rightly gets mad at non call. GETS PENALTY for yelling. Offsetting penalties. NOW they CALL targeting on a non target play. These refs are atrocious. #CINvTEM #TempleTUFF luck

Michael Pitts just laid an absolutely classless hit on a clearly defenseless player that didn’t even have the ball in the Cincinnati-Temple game. I’m not a fan of the immediate ejection for a targeting call, but I’m glad he was thrown out. An Inexcusable hit on a defenseless guy.

Collins comes on the field screaming after Russo is pushed over late and Brandon Mack is hit helmet-on-helmet by Cincinnati defensive end Michael Pitts. Pitts is penalized for targeting and ejected from the game
