If you haven’t heard of pitcher Ben Joyce out of the University of Tennessee, you’re missing out.

Possibly college baseball’s most prolific arm, the pitcher is consistently topping triple digits on the radar guns as he continues to mow down opposing hitters.

On the year, Joyce has made nine appearances in relief work for the Vols, tossing 6.2 innings worth of scoreless baseball. In those 6+ innings, the righty has recorded 10 strikeouts while surrendering just four hits. Opponents are hitting just .167 off the reliever so far this year.

What’s made Joyce near unhittable is his unbelievable velocity.

The junior is being clocked at speeds of 103 MPH on a regular basis. The latest instance came in last weekend’s series sweep of South Carolina.

The incredible power is getting folks around the Major Leagues talking.

MLBers Take Notice Of Ben Joyce’s Extreme Velocity

Joyce has been a key component to Tennessee’s 19-1 overall record. The Vols are currently ranked fifth in the nation as they head into a grueling SEC schedule.

His big arm makes him an excellent resource out of the bullpen, giving this pitching staff the ability to successfully close out games late.

That performance thus far is making him an intriguing prospect for the Major League draft.
