The first round of the 2018 NFL Draft was filled with some great moments— many of which involved grown men in the stands throwing a temper tantrum over their team’s selections— but I think everyone can agree Ryan Shazier walking on stage to announce the Pittsburgh Steelers pick was the highlight of the night. There were questions about whether Shazier would be able to walk again— nevermind play football— after he suffered a spinal injury last season, so if you didn’t get goosebumps after getting to watch him walk again in public, you might want to have a doctor make sure all of your neurological functions are operating properly.
Shazier (rightfully) overshadowed another cool moment that came when he announced his team was selecting former Virginia Tech safety Terrell Edmunds with the 28th pick shortly after his ex-teammate and brother Tremaine was picked up by the Buffalo Bills 12 picks earlier (this is the second time in history two siblings were scooped up in the first round). However, Terrell had only attended the draft to support his brother— he expected to go on the second or third day— and after Tremaine got the call, he figured he could sneak off to the bathroom after joining him to celebrate.
He figured wrong.
After Edmunds was selected, a reporter as him what it was like to receive the call after his younger brother did, and he shared a story that’s a bit more amusing than the standard answer you’d expect.

Sure, he could have taken the 10 seconds needed to tuck in his shirt and secure his belt, but I think running out of a bathroom with your pants undone is a pretty appropriate way to react to a surprise like this.
