The Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky will play each other for the third time this season on Sunday afternoon in Chicago, and ticket prices are already through the roof.
According to ticket reseller TickPick, Sunday’s game between the Fever and the Sky will be the most expensive WNBA game ever.
Sunday’s Chicago Sky-Indiana Fever game is the most expensive WNBA game on record with an average purchase price of $271 – 207% higher than the Sky’s home average purchase price of $88.
While this is the third time these two teams have played each other this season, demand to see Clark and Reese face off has seemingly skyrocketed as the season has progressed. TickPick notes that the “get-in” price for this Sunday’s game is $249 – 336% more expensive than the “get-in” price of their last matchup in Indianapolis on June 16th ($57). The most expensive ticket available is going for $9,131.
Comparing this game across other Chicago sports, the Sky-Fever game is 131% more expensive than the Chicago Bulls’ home average purchase price last season ($117) and 34% more expensive than the average purchase price of a Chicago Bears home game this upcoming season ($201).
Considering last week’s Fever-Sky crushed viewership records, it’s safe to say that Clark vs Reese is one of the biggest rivalries in sports.
