As is tradition, the reigning Masters champion gets to create the menu for the next year’s Champions Dinner and on Tuesday we learned that Tiger Woods will be going with a Southern California theme this time around.
Woods will be going with both chicken and steak fajitas for what will be the main course while sushi and sashimi will be served out on the deck. As for the desert, Woods is still debating on whether or not to serve milkshakes.
There is some history behind the milkshake debate. After winning his first green jacket in 1997, Woods went with a classic American menu in ’98 with cheeseburgers, chicken sandwiches, french fries and milkshakes and apparently he got a good laugh watching Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen suck down the milkshakes that year.
This is the fifth time Woods has gotten to create the menu for the Tuesday night Champions Dinner with the last time coming in 2006.

As for this year’s menu, it’s a bit all over the place with fajitas and sushi, but it’s tough to hate on. Starting the night off with a cocktail in one hand and some kickass sushi in the other while sitting out on the deck simply sounds lovely. Then getting to wash it down with some fajitas and (hopefully) a milkshake at the end of the night is my kind of dinner.
It would be hilarious to have the staff come out with dozens of smoking fajita plates (you’ve ordered these at Chili’s, you know you have) and throw them down on the table in front of past champions, but it’s safe to assume they’ll go with the less scalding approach.
We’re only 44 days away from the first round of the 2020 Masters, so get excited.
