Tiger Woods rose to superstardom in the late 1990s and the early 2000s by playing golf at a level that nobody had ever seen before. But in the years since, one thing has become abundantly clear about Woods – he absolutely loves being a father to his children Sam and Charlie and would move mountains to be able to support them in their endeavors.

We’ve seen the bond between Tiger and his 16-year-old Charlie on several occasions when they’ve teamed up for the PNC Championship. But Sam, who at 17 years old is the elder sibling, lives a slightly less public life. That doesn’t mean, however, that she’s not crushing it in her own right.

Tiger Woods Plays The Role Of Dad As Daughter Sam Wins State Soccer Championship

The high school senior is a starter on the soccer team for the The Benjamin School in Florida. On Monday night, she and her teammates played for a FHSAA Class 2A state championship against Episcopal School of Jacksonville, and her famous father was right there in the stands with everyone else.

Tiger, who looked right at home among the other parents, rooted on as Sam was announced in the starting lineup. He was even more excited when The Benjamin School went ahead 1-0. Then, when the final whistle blew to close a 1-0 victory, he and the other parents let loose.

According to USA Today, it marked the first girls’ soccer state championship in the history of The Benjamin School. After the match, Tiger as well as his ex-wife Elin Nordegren took to the field to celebrate with their daughter. It was a touching moment on several levels, as Tiger only recently mourned the passing of his mother Kutilda who was similarly supportive in his sporting endeavors.
