Last month, the NFL announced a multi-year partnership with TikTok, the leading destination for short-form mobile video, a Gen Z marketing push that promises NFL content like packaged highlights, sideline moments, and behind-the-scenes footage.

If the partnership amounts to nothing else going forward, at least we were gifted with this video Tom Brady posted mocking himself for totally bitching out on throwing a block for ex-Patriot running back LeGarrette Blount against the New York Jets in 2016. In the industry, this is what we refer to as a “business decision.” I say that as if I’m in “the industry.”

The video soundtrack is most suitably Whitesnake’s 1982 hit “Here I Go Again.”

Brady has gone on the record saying bluntly, “I don’t know how to block” and saying the tactic he employs is just to “get in the way.”

P.S. I’m not accusing anyone of anything here, but this video concept closely resembles the one I made of my lady roaring down a ski hill. Cease and desist, Tom Brady, or the Law Offices of Jim Sokolove will be contacting you.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
