The New York Jets are in need of a quarterback following the injury to Aaron Rodgers.
And whether it be trolling, coincidence, or a legitimate olive branch, future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady — who retired from the NFL after 23 seasons earlier this year — took to social media to share a video of himself playing basketball in an effort to “keep up with the kids.”

The Jets lost their new quarterback Aaron Rodgers to a torn Achilles just four snaps into his career with the team. After months of offseason hype, Rodgers didn’t even complete a pass as a member of Gang Green.
According to reports, Rodgers reportedly had issues in the preseason with the play call that ultimately got him hurt. Rodgers’ issues apparently came with the offensive tackles being instructed to cut block, which means he has to get the ball out quickly and can’t extend the play like he’s used to.
Despite this, New York Jets offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett called cut blocks on two of Rodgers’ three pass attempts, with the final one ending his season and potentially his career. At this time, Rodgers has yet to publicly speak and it is unclear what the future of his career will be.
Those close to Rodgers, such as Pat McAfee and AJ Hawk, don’t believe that Rodgers will retire as they can’t see him “going out” like that. That said, the pair both clarified that they have no information from Rodgers directly.
Now that Rodgers is out for the season, the Jets — unless they sign or trade for someone else — are facing the prospect of another season with Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback, which is absolutely detrimental to the Super Bowl aspirations that the team had heading into the start of the season.
The Jets and Wilson will look to keep their ship afloat in Week 2 when they head to Texas to take on the Dallas Cowboys.
