When Drew Brees broke the passing yards record back in 2019 he got a long ceremony that included his family joining him on the field.
After Tom Brady broke Brees’ record on Sunday night, NBC cut to commercial and Brady only got a small ceremony in New England which left viewers confused.
Did I blink and miss the ceremony we were told would happen for Tom Brady breaking Drew Brees' passing yardage record? ๐คจ๐ค๐#TBvsNE #SNF

Michaels and Collinsworth are so disappointed they didn't stop the game and perform some elaborate idolizing and pedestalizing ceremony for Brady setting the all-time passing yardage record…sad, really…

According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Brady specifically requested that the Patriots not stop the game for a ceremony.
According to @JayGlazer, it is Tom Brady that specifically asked the #Patriots to only make it a brief pause if he breaks the all-time passing yard record and not a big ceremony like Drew Brees had with the #Saints
