Tony Ferguson Rips Conor McGregor On Twitter, McGregor Responds With Uncharacteristic Kindness

It appears that Conor McGregor has grown more reflective in his suspension, if his correspondence with Tony Ferguson is any indication.

Ferguson joined the droves of MMA fighters attempting to capture a headline by hating on the sport’s most famous figure. Just yesterday, UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley ripped the McGregor/Khabib fight by saying, “They both looked like old men at the nursing home fighting each other.” Eddie Alvarez, who Conor TKO’ed in the second round of UFC 205 in 2016, followed up by saying that McGregor should never re-match Khabib because he’ll get his ass kicked again.

Tony McGregor has made a part-time job of jabbing McGregor at every turn. Most recently, the 35-year-old tried to poke McGregor’s supposed fall from grace.

Instead of verbally ravaging Ferguson, McGregor killed him with kindess.

“If we have the ability to go back, Tony. Then we have the ability to go forward again! I wish you well and am praying for you as a fellow colleague. Respect to my Paradigm familia. Yours sincerely, Burger King.”

The ‘Paradigm familia’ bit refers to the two athletes being represented by Paradigm Sports Management.

McGregor is eligible to return to fighting as early as next month. Hopefully he hardens up by then.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
