New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce (Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment)

Travis Kelce confided in his brother his retirement plans on the latest episode of New Heights. It came when the two future NFL Hall of Famers were discussing potential team ownership and Wrexham AFC co-owner (and Always Sunny star) Rob McElhenney pestered the brothers about ownership opportunities.
The idea of potentially owning an NFL team one day has sort of bubbled under the surface and the rumor presented itself as whispers ever since Travis Kelce‘s relationship with Taylor Swift became serious. Taylor’s a billionaire. Travis and Jason Kelce are NFL royalty who have a lot of money themselves. The idea isn’t nearly as farfetched as it would have seemed a few years ago.
But on the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce (Presented by Wave Sports + Entertainment), Travis Kelce told his brother he has absolutely zero interest in NFL team ownership. This comes at the 54:30ish moment in the episode:
Jason Kelce: “You’re going to tell me that you are going to turn (ownership down)? You get an opportunity to be an owner of an NFL team, you’re going to say no?”
Travis Kelce: “Yes.”
Jason Kelce: “Why?”
Travis Kelce: “Because I want to broadcast when I’m done playing.”
Jason Kelce: “You want to broadcast… You’re saying that right now, you want to broadcast? What do you want to do?”
Travis Kelce: “Yes. I want to be right here and tell them about the game, the old ball coach, ladies and gentlemen. I want to do that. I want to be the talking head that calls the games.”
Jason Kelce: “How can we be an owner… but not be an owner?”
This is an easy career move for Travis when he chooses to hang up his cleats. Jason will be on ESPN’s broadcasting team this upcoming season, Travis could follow him in the next few years.
The answer, of course, is Kylie Kelce. They just need someone in their family (*cough* Taylor Swift *cough*) to buy an NFL team so they can be tangentially attached as owners.
