Pacers Guard Tyrese Haliburton Takes Over Again, Leads Team To Tournament Finals

Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton had a monster game on Monday in the quarterfinals of the NBA In-Season Tournament. And, he continued his incredible start to the season with another unreal game that went crazy on social media.

Taking on the Bucks in Las Vegas in the first ever NBA In-Season Tournament Semifinals, Haliburton left his mark again, this time on a much bigger stage. He had 27 points, 15 assists, and 7 rebounds on just 19 shot attempts to lead the Pacers to a huge upset, 128-119.

That’s clearly a huge statline, but the fourth-year guard has been making that routine this year. He’s averaging just under 27 points and just over 12 assists a game. That assists number has him 1.5 assists ahead of Trae Young for the league’s best number.

It was more of the same tonight. Indiana is a much-improved team this year under Rick Carlisle, and much of that has to do with Haliburton’s big leap. All of his incredible all-around game was on display.

But, the play that will be remembered was an incredible dagger three that put the game basically out of reach and advanced the Pacers to the NBA In-Season Tournament Finals.

Twitter is loving Haliburton, too. This week really does feel like his coming-out party as one of the league’s elite players.

Now, he will have the chance to win himself and his teammates $1 million each in the tournament finals on Saturday.
