North Carolina’s win over Baylor is the biggest upset of March Madness thus far. The Tar Heels knocked off the top-seeded Bears in overtime after one of the craziest regulation periods of all-time.
From the get-go, the game was entirely in favor of UNC. At one point, the Tar Heels took a 25-point lead with 10 minutes left in the second half.
And yet, despite the massive deficit, the Bears somehow clawed their way back into the game and tied the game with 15 seconds left. As the game went to overtime tied at 80, the second-half momentum was heavily in favor of Baylor, but it was anyone’s game.
It was back-and-forth during the entire overtime period but the Bears got cold and committed some crucial fouls to give the Tar Heels a lead that they would hold onto through the final buzzer. North Carolina upset No. 1 Baylor 93-86 after a crazy sequence of events.
The win probability chart throughout the game is truly bananas.
As Baylor went up by 10 in the first half, they had a 75% chance of winning. And then, as UNC fought back, the chart slowly climbed to a mountain top that swiftly dropped off after giving up a 25-point lead.
From that point forward it went up-and-down in sharp swings that finished with another steep climb to the win. Take a look:
Down 25 w/ 10 mins to play. Arguably the greatest comeback in the history of the NCAA tournament. And all for naught. I love this stupid sport so much. pic.twitter.com/47Hbg2N3np

It is hard to imagine that any sport, let alone any game within the sport, will see such a crazy chart as UNC/Baylor on Saturday. Wild stuff.
